Hairdressers and Beauty Salons in Budapest: English-Speaking Options

The most complete English-language hair and beauty operation in the city, with hair, facials, waxing, nails and keratin under one roof on both sides of the river.

Good to know: Every price band depends on the stylist grade you book, from Master Artist up to Salon Manager, and colour is where the bands widen most: the published list prices colour and balayage in full, but a dash in a column means that grade does not do that service rather than that the price is missing. Colour base prices cover 50 ml of product and highlighting 100 ml, with anything beyond that billed on top, and a colour correction is charged at HUF 20,000 an hour plus HUF 100 per ml of product. Waxing is priced separately, for example a full Brazilian at HUF 7,800 to 8,800.

Describes itself in its own site title as an English-speaking hair and nail salon, and one of its published reviews specifically notes that the staff speak fluent English.

Good to know: Ignore the price list on the salon's website: it dates from an old version of the site and is far below what the salon now charges, so the prices above come from its live Fresha booking menu instead. That menu currently offers hair and make-up only, with no nail services at all, so if you want a manicure here call first rather than assume. The salon runs two web addresses, openbudapest.hu and open-budapest.hu, and the Hungarian one still describes the salon as being on Bajnok utca in the VI. district while its contact block, its map link and its Fresha profile all give 1074 Budapest, Also erdosor utca 10. Its booking button still points at a Shedul address, which now redirects to Fresha. Published hours are weekdays 10:00 to 18:00.

A small Australian-inspired studio just off Margaret Bridge whose entire website runs in English, working with ammonia-free and sulfate-free Kevin Murphy products.

Good to know: No price list is published anywhere on the site, and the Timely booking page did not display prices when checked, so ask for a quote before you confirm. Appointment only, closed Monday and Sunday, and Saturday hours stop at 16:00.

One of the few Hungarian salon groups that publishes its full price list in English, priced in four stylist grades so you can choose your own budget.

Good to know: The contacts page lists two Budapest salons, Pest at 1056 Budapest, Belgrad rakpart 26. and Buda at 1013 Budapest, Krisztina korut 45., plus three sites in Budaors. An Ujbuda salon on Aliz utca is still named on a gift voucher product page and on third-party listings but no longer appears on the group's own contacts page in either language, so check before travelling there. Cancelling inside 24 hours means paying half the service fee at your next visit, cancelling on the day means paying the full fee, and the window stretches to 48 hours for colour and highlight appointments that run four to six hours. Colour prices are indicative and vary with grey coverage and hair density.

Lists curly cutting for women and men as its own service rather than an afterthought, at the same price as the equivalent straight cut, and runs a full English version of the site including the price list.

Good to know: Every listed price is the professional service fee only and the product is billed on top, which is where bills surprise people: a full colour on long hair is HUF 13,000 plus material from HUF 9,400, and the site states that the material figure shown is a minimum and the real amount can only be set after an in-person consultation. Colour prices exclude the haircut and the blow-dry. Open weekdays 9:00 to 21:00 and closed at weekends, which suits after-work appointments but not Saturdays.

The cheapest predictable option in the city: 21 Budapest salons, no appointments at all, an online queue instead, and the same published prices at 19 of them.

Good to know: The prices above are the on-page table that covers this salon and most of the chain. Two branches are on a newer list: Petofi Sandor utca in the V. district and Terez korut at the Oktogon publish a PDF valid from 1 June 2026 instead, where a women's wash, cut and blow-dry is HUF 7,490 short to mid-length and HUF 8,990 long, and basic colouring is HUF 12,500 for 80 grammes. The men's cut and the HUF 550 foil are the same on both lists. English is on the website and the price list, not guaranteed at the chair, so bring a photo. Salons sit in shopping centres and on main boulevards (Margit korut, Terez korut, Erzsebet korut, Ferenc korut, Szent Istvan korut, Arkad, Etele Plaza, KOKI, Campona).

One of the very few Budapest salons that lists a curly and kinky afro hair service on its own booking menu, alongside eyebrow threading that is hard to find elsewhere in the city.

Good to know: Check which of the salon's two Fresha profiles you are booking on, because they price the same haircuts very differently at the same address: the profile called Haircut Budapest charges HUF 8,500 short, 10,500 medium, 12,500 long and 14,500 extra long, while the Radha's Beauty Salon profile charges HUF 14,800, 23,800, 25,800 and 27,800 for what reads as the same service, and a men's cut is HUF 7,000 on one and HUF 8,500 on the other. The prices above are the cheaper profile's, so confirm before you sit down. The salon has no website of its own and runs entirely through Fresha, where its English service menu is the best evidence of the working language. The two profiles also carry different phone numbers, +36 70 384 4828 for the beauty salon and +36 70 518 1688 for the haircut one. The beauty profile shows 5.0 from 249 reviews, the haircut profile 5.0 from 21. Appointment only.

Good to know: The site advertises English, German, Spanish and Portuguese versions but every one of those links returns a 404, so the working language could not be verified: confirm by phone or at [email protected] before booking. There is no online booking either, despite the site telling you that exact prices are visible in the online booking system; every book now button is an anchor down to a contact block with the phone number and the email address, so booking means calling or writing. Prices include both labour and the Kanekalon hair used, box braids take 3.5 to 6 hours and last 6 to 8 weeks. The salon is out in Csepel, roughly 30 to 40 minutes from the centre.

The Buda side default for men, a minute from Szell Kalman ter next to Mammut, open seven days a week including Sunday.

Good to know: The salon publishes a 5.0 rating from 37 Google reviews on its own ratings page. Books through Salonic, and Sunday hours can vary, so check before turning up. Master barbers cost HUF 500 more than the standard rate.

Two central barbershops open every day of the week including Sundays, with an English site, English booking and prices published service by service.

Good to know: Second shop at 1073 Budapest, Erzsebet korut 16 (phone +36 20 621 8466), which opens an hour later on weekdays. Creative colouring starts at HUF 18,000 and a one-grade clipper cut is HUF 3,500, useful if you only need a tidy-up between proper cuts.

States "We speak English" in plain terms on its own English page and publishes every price in both forints and euros, which is rare in this sector.

Good to know: Weekdays by prior appointment only, no walk-ins, in a quiet street just off Terez korut near the Oktogon. The owner has worked as a nail trainer since 2007 and the salon leans towards CND products.

A one-artist nail studio just below the Castle district with a fully translated English price list and English booking system, both quoted in forints and euros.

Good to know: Cash only, no card payment, and prices are the ones valid from 1 January 2026. English-speaking staff is not stated anywhere on the site, only the English page version and the English booking menu, so confirm when you book. Note that the site states the cancellation window two ways on the same page, as 48 hours and as two working days, so treat two working days as the safe reading. Being late costs you: up to 15 minutes and the service is simply shortened by the time you lost, but more than 15 minutes and the appointment counts as delivered and the full price is due. Street parking on Palya utca is a paying zone, code 3012.

A rare beauty salon with the whole site and the whole price list translated into English, covering facials, waxing and diode laser hair removal in one place.

Good to know: It is a fifth-floor flat rather than a street-front salon: the entrance is next to Roni ABC and you ring bell 51. Laser sessions are much cheaper bought as a course, for example five bikini sessions at HUF 69,000 instead of HUF 18,400 each, and multi-session packages are sold in the salon rather than online. Appointment strongly preferred.

Relaxation massage rather than physiotherapy, open 10:00 to 21:00 seven days a week at three locations, with an English site and English booking.

Good to know: Also at 1082 Budapest, Futo utca 2. and 1136 Budapest, Hegedus Gyula utca 27/a, each with its own website but the same phone number. The published list has been valid since 31 December 2025 and the salon takes both bank cards and the SZEP card leisure pocket, which is worth knowing if your employer gives you one.
