Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Budapest Expat handles personal data when you visit this website or contact us. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site and reply to you.
Who is responsible for your data
Budapest Expat is operated by Stone Rank Kft, a company registered in Hungary (the data controller). You can reach us about any privacy question at [email protected].
Registered office and company details are listed in our Legal Notice.
What data we collect
Contact and quote forms: when you use a form on this site, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you provide, so we can reply and, where relevant, point you to a suitable partner.
Technical data: like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the service running.
We do not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies, and we do not build marketing profiles about you.
Why we use it and the legal basis
We use form data to answer your enquiry and follow up if you ask us to. The legal basis is your consent when you send the message, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
We use technical logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in the security and reliability of the site.
Who else processes your data
Web3Forms delivers our form submissions to our inbox. Cloudflare hosts and serves the site and processes technical logs. Google Fonts serves the fonts used on the site, and Google may receive your IP address as part of that request.
These providers act as our processors or independent controllers for that limited purpose. We do not sell your data to anyone.
Affiliate links
Some pages contain affiliate links, including to Amazon and to independent partners we refer. If you follow one of these links, the destination site may set its own cookies and collect data under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails only as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, then delete them. Technical logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].
If you believe we have mishandled your data, you can complain to the Hungarian data protection authority (NAIH, naih.hu) or the authority in your own country.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
